Most people in developed countries don't really have to worry about blackjack scams, fortunately. However, there are some other nations throughout our world where people don't always have access to reputable blackjack games. This is sometimes the case in Phnom Pehn, Cambodia where some unsavory individuals have been working people with a nasty blackjack scam.
This story of blackjack cheating begins with Philippine nationals who've been targeting tourists in the Phnom Pehn area. One of the members of this gang will approach a tourist and strike up some friendly conversation. Eventually, the gang member will invite the tourist out to lunch, where another person from their group will be waiting.
Here's where the blackjack part comes in because the guy they meet will claim to be casino dealer for VIPs. As you may have guessed, the next part involves the two men inviting the tourist up for a friendly game of blackjack. Unfortunately, it's a rigged game, and the tourists ultimately lose. Assuming they can't pay up on the debts, they're taken to a location where they can withdraw money - under the threat of violence of course.
Now it may seem strange as to why anybody would fall for such a weird scam. However, it's apparently pretty convincing because multiple tourists have went to the local police already after losing thousands of dollars. Taking all of this into account, it just reinforces how important it is to stick with reputable blackjack games. If you can't find either a good online casino or land-based casino to play blackjack at, then don't play at all!
Fortunately, it's not hard to find good online blackjack games because all you have to do is sign up at an internet casino, and start playing. You don't even need to make a deposit if you just want to play free games.
